Specim FX50 is a high-speed, accurate and efficient hyperspectral camera designed for various industrial environments.  It operates in a line-scan mode and collects hyperspectral data within the Medium Wavelength Infrared (MWIR) region (2.7-5.3 μm), which is ideal for identifying and sorting the difficult black plastics, analyze hydrocarbons, minerals, and detect contamination on metal surfaces quickly and reliably.

The benefits of the Specim FX50 hyperspectral camera; it’s the most compact and rugged MWIR spectral camera on the market. The Specim FX50 is the only reliable way to sort black plastics as MWIR light penetrates deeper in the dark materials as shorter wavelengths.  The Specim FX50 also identifies black ABS plastic as its spectral region extends up to 5300 nm.  This opens new opportunities to analyze minerals, hydrocarbons in dark samples in oil/gas, and mining exploration and production. The Specim FX50 camera is capable of detecting low impurity concentrations due to their strong spectral signatures in the MWIR region.
